Banana Avocado Spinach Jar Smoothie
4.8(905 ratings)Blueberries turn a green smoothie a muddy brown the moment they hit the blades, so here they stay whole and sit on top instead. Beneath them is a dense, spoonable blend of banana, avocado and spinach, lifted with lemon and a pinch of cinnamon. It is filling enough to replace breakfast, and a wide-mouth jar makes it easy to eat with a spoon.

Step 1: Add the coconut water, lemon juice and spinach to the blender and blend until the spinach is completely liquefied and there are no dark flecks left.
-
Step 2: Add the frozen banana, avocado, hemp hearts and cinnamon, then blend on high, using the tamper if needed, until the mixture is thick enough to hold a soft peak.
-
Step 3: Spoon the smoothie into a wide-mouth jar, tapping it gently on the counter to settle the thick mixture and knock out any large air pockets.
-
Step 4: Drop the fresh blueberries over the top so they rest on the surface, then serve with a spoon or a wide straw right away.
