This oak board is built from edge-grain strips glued with food-safe adhesive and planed to a sturdy 1 in. thickness, so it stays flat and quiet on the counter. The surface is forgiving on knife edges and has enough room to halve a pile of figs, slice apples for a tart, or chop a whole bunch of parsley.
The rounded edges make it comfortable to carry from counter to table, where it doubles as a simple serving board for fruit and nut cheese. Rubbing it with board oil once a month keeps the grain rich and resistant to stains from berries and beets.
